Returning to our first love is a command from the Lord that must come with an intentionality on our behalf to honor the charge the Lord has made against us, remembering the heights to which we have fallen, and repenting that includes the changing of our inner self, our old way of thinking, our sinful behavior, and lastly our ability to seek God’s will in doing the works we did at first when we first knew the Lord. This returning to our first love also comes with a warning less we truly repent in which the Lord declares He will visit us and remove our lampstand from its place—unless we repent.
