Pastor Steven contiues part two of last weeks sermon "A House Divided Cannot Stand". Jesus enters a home, probably the home of Peter once again and as it seems to be a norm, crowds begin to gather around him and his disciples that they are unable to have a meal together. His family begin to accuse him of being a mad man and attempts to take charge or to seize him. The teachers of the law who came down from Jerusalem, indicating they were of an elite group of teachers come down from the headquarters to present an alternative about Jesus in which Jesus for the first time in Mark’s gospel speaks in a parable to engage in a logical debate against his accusers and labelers. Lastly, Jesus declares who He and His true family are in giving the answer of how to remain united rather than fall to being divided from God and others. Mark incorporates the trilemma argument within these passages to reveals the tactics of the enemy to divide, but the answer from Jesus in staying united. Before we engage with the trilemma debate, Mark, being led by the Spirit of God shares the foundation of how division begins in verse 20.
