Hebrews Sermon Series | Perseverance in Christ | All-Superiority of The Son | Hebrews 1:5-14

It gets doubtful and troublesome to wonder about the eternal future while living in today’s present. How long oh Lord, how long we may ask ourselves as evil grows darker and the love of many people grows colder. Yet, there is hope in Jesus, the Son of God, and His superiority over all including the angels in heaven knowing that He is not a son of God but the Son of God Most High. The writer of Hebrews is writing to second generation Jewish Christians to encourage them to persevere in Christ rather shrink back to their own destruction begins to confirm the superiority of Jesus as described in the first four verses in Jesus being the all-sufficient One. After declaring Jesus who became as much superior to the angels as the name, he has inherited is superior to the angels in verse four, the writer begins to compare and contrast the angels and the Son of God to show Jesus, the Son of Gods’ superiority over the angels. It is in this display of the full superiority of Jesus the Christ that we are encouraged to persevere in Christ as we get to know Jesus as the All-Superior One.
