Satan's Sifting: Peter's Denial Pt.1 (Mark 14:66-72)
It was Jesus who gave us the purpose of that old serpent, the devil, named Satan who is compared to a thief that only comes to steal and kill and destroy men/women alive. While, in complete contrast in polar description, Jesus explains that He came that we may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance or to the full, till it overflows as the amplified Bible explains it. But how do these two opposing and opposites meet their ultimate ends− one being destruction, while the other given life and that in abundance? This can be realized through the denial of Peter whom Jesus declared in Luke 22:31, Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift all of you as wheat. 32 But I have prayed for you, Simon, that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers.”
