This section of Marks gospel teaches us the heart of the matter when it comes to defilement and the dangers of our traditions (the handing down of information, beliefs, and customs by word of mouth or by example from one generation to another without written instruction) in the face of God’s commandments. We will learn three things that happen to us when we do not make the heart the heart of the matter and three things that happen to us when we make the heart the heart of the matter.
