The Kingdom of God Pt.2 (Mark 4:30-34)

This video is part two of last weeks sermon "The kingdom of God: Like A Mustard Seed". Jesus gives this parable as He gave the others, with the intent to give a physical truth to explain a spiritual truth very similar to the growing seed in verses 26-29 as well as the four soils in the beginning of chapter four. While many people had their own pictures and ideas of the kingdom of God, Jesus would give clarity to what the kingdom of God was like. If our ideas and pictures of the kingdom of God is distorted, tainted, and derived from a false perspective or belief how do we know to recognize, embrace, and even live in and through the kingdom on earth let alone help others understand the kingdom of God? This is the question whether Jesus was asked it, or he presupposed it, he would describe and answer in these verses about the kingdom of God. While in the growing seed Jesus seems to focus on the inner growth of the seed sown within our hearts that undergoes spiritual photosynthesis and metamorphosis. Jesus here seems to focus on the outward signs of the kingdom which starts very small but grows beyond our understanding across this world and through our life both witnessed in the Church and in an individual’s life. Therefore, we must understand what Jesus was saying about the kingdom and receive His description of it through the mustard seed as an example of the kingdom of God.
