From Adam and Eve, the OT and the NT, human history and through today there has always been an issue of authority. Eve was to be the helpmate of Adam and submissive to his authority and both were to be submissive to the authority of God until Eve wanted to take the reigns which led to her, and Adam wanting to be God and have authority rather than be submissive to God and His authority. The children of Israel wanted to have their own king and dismiss the King of kings’ authority and be like the world to their own destruction and false authority because everyone wants to be their own king and in authority. Throughout the NT we see the religious leaders and others dismiss and challenge the authority of Jesus due to wanting to have the authority all for themselves that led to their destruction. Today, not much has changed. Woman are seeking authority over men including their husbands in the destruction of marriage as God created it and men only want to have authority as long as they can put it in their back pocket. While humanity seeks to have authority at minimum, over their own lives. We see a grave problem. We dislike and even to some degree hate authority. ​
